Loyalty

Even after being backstabbed or taken for granted, I will never stop believing in Loyalty amongst friends. One incident that I fondly remember was when I went to watch a movie with a group of friends. All of us agreed to eat dinner together after the movie but 5 out of 7 reneged out of the deal and went home without informing the remaining two (which included me and a close friend of mine).

I was pissed, pissed to the point that I felt at screaming and shouting and hurling vulgarities at the friends who left us behind. But I wasn't pissed because they abandoned me.. I was pissed because they left a friend who was hungry and wanted his friends to accompany him for dinner. So I did, not because I was better than them but because I believed in loyalty.. in sticking with your friends all the way.

Even if they may never do the same for me... it is one of my moral guiding compasses in life because what am I but an animal if I chose only to follow my principles when it benefits me?
